  • Pediatrician & vaccination When I told our pediatrician that I won't have my little one having his shots before he is 1 year old, he told me I should not come back to his office. Who can recommand a pediatrician (can be homeopatic) in Manhattan who respects my decision and will treat my little one nevertheless?

    • Whoof. I have kids with autism and there is no way on this earth that I would not give them ANY vaccinations before 1. These diseases are not jokes. They are very deadly.

      • Mine has been great about spreading, although it's getting harder to get single doses. But wait that long? I don't know any dr's who would do that.

    • My ped once told me the name of the one ped in the city she knew who was okay with this. It is a man but not sure of his name. Maybe try the message boards at mothering.com. Someone ther might know. That said, I would not do this (and I spread them o ut a lot) What are your reasons?

My reasons are that I don't want to stress this little body with formaldehyde and mercury (just to name two ingredients) as long as its immune system, nervous system and neurological processes are still in the developing stage.

    • Possibly Soho Pedriatrics. I know I had a df who went to them who held off on vaccines. Her dc is 9 now things may have changed but worth a try

    • wow. I held off on vaccines with my second until 18 months and only one at a time. Our ped. wasn't thrilled but respected my wishes. I've heard really good things about Benjamin Kligler at Continuum Health partners.

    • Wow. Props to your doctor, but I hope your poor dc can find somebody to see him. It's not his fault his mom is making an uninformed and selfish decision. Mercury and formaldehyde, huh? Done much research into this subject (excluding weird internet websites)?
