  • ok, lay it on me. did CIO work for you? why? why not? also, what temperment is your db, easy or challenging?

    • yes, for both dds; #1 was "easy" temp, #2 difficult, but both were poor sleepers and really needed the hlep

    • It did, but we were lucky that he would only cry for 15 min tops, so it wasn't so excruciating. I would say he was in the middle of the temperment scale.

    • second dd had very easy temp and it wasn't even cio- we laid her down and she went to sleep. First db, we tried everything in the book before we ended up with a sleep consultant and doing cio. It was awful- she cried a lot and fell asleep sitting up in her crib. We hung in there even though I had always deplored the concept of cio. OUr whole family was having health and well being issues related to her sleep issues before we got to this point. It took a week and she slept through the night ever since (we did it at 11 mos). She is also a happy, confident, attached 4 yo now so my fears of "damaging" her by cio were unfounded. Every dc is different. For us, we had to try other approaches before we could resort to cio or we wouldn't ahve been able to stick with it.
