  • No background in the field of education (finance mom here), but thinking that I might want to work at a private school in an operations/finance role. Is there such a thing? Do you need to be a teacher first? Hard to find? Any leads? NYC by the way. TIA!!

    • yes, go to www.nais.org, click on career center and then search for CFO/business office jobs. There will be a lot of them, you can see the requirements. The ones in NYC are very difficult to get, they don't come up a lot and there are so many finance people here. but might be worth a try

      • ^^ also try a search firm called deerfield associaties, you can google it. They have a few cfo jobs. I considered this myself, but ultimately decided that it didn't pay enough to cover my babysitter and didn't pursue it more

          • you are probably long gone, but if you check this post again: business office jobs run about $45-60k and are full year. The CFO positions are around $100k but generally require prior specific experience at a school
