I need support/feedback on this: My mother-in-law works full-time and basically NEVER comes to see us and her 22-month old grandchild. (it is about 40 minutes away) and expects us to periodically haul out to her for a late SUnday dinner (inconvenient time and dc tired). She does not STOP approaching dc which keeps dc in a state of hysterics because dc does not know who she is. We ask her to give dc space and she does not stop (this is very stressful for me as I try to soothe dc.) DC was very hungry last SUnday and we asked for an early dinner plate for dc in which she responded "I am going to feed all of the guests now" and then proceeded to give plates to other people first.

My IL's live in California and we have to visit twice a year and they ALWAYS books dinners in restaurants to see all the grandkids at once as mine sleep through every dinner in my lap. They always ask if dc are sick. Of course they are jet lagged out of their minds. They never travel, will not come east and will never really get it. I just suck it up because they gave me dh.
