  • 18 month old DC slipped out of his second plaster splint in two days -- supposed to be protecting his fractured left foot -- xrays negative. Now he can weightbear with little pain. ER says to come back. The foot seems much better. Anyone with experience with a "fractured" toddler foot? TIA!

    • X-rays are often negative in broken toddler bones. Don't be falsely reassured. Would call your Ortho -- why must it be an ER if they already know your kid!

    • My dd had greenstick break, and had cast for 6 weeks at same age. She was totally fine when it came off. they will have to put on cast so it goes higher up I guess. Or just a velcro booty? Ask ortho.
