Anyone have a gyn they love -- am an older mom and would prefer to avoid an ob/gyn. I prefer someone who specializes in menopause issues, since that's where I am now. I am a picky and well-informed patient, have gone to something like 15-20 NYC practices in the last 35 years and have never really found anyone great. I'd like a really smart woman who pays attention and doesn't have wildly disorganized office staff. Does this exist in NYC? Thanks!

OP -- That's strange, because I've used the same GP and ophthalmologist for the past twenty years and where I don't always agree w/ every aspect of their approach I feel that they take their time enough to get a basic picture of my condition and don't overbook their practice. What do you feel is unreasonable in my list of expectations? I did have a fabulous gyn when I lived in Paris, but the system there is completely different. She answered her own phone, worked out of her apartment, didn't use an assistant and spent a good forty minutes with each patient. Of course, I realize that can never happen here!
