I used the bottles that came in the free diaper bag that the doctor and hospital give you. They fit my pump. But some people prefer the freezer bags because they stack and take up less room

yep. zantac didn't work for us but prevacid did - made a huge difference for all of us. baby was happier and actually slept, wasn't crying all waking hours. weaned off at 6 mos without a problem.

thanks! so if we "wait it out" I need to be prepared for possibly another 5 months of this?! I may need to get over my fear of drugs for babies.

it could be less, could be more. I think meds are great! Also keep in mind that your baby is very uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to go unmedicated with severe reflux for 6 months!

MD here: this is a trend in medicine these days, but personally I would not give a powerful drug to an infant. all babies have reflux. the ones whose parents are nervous and complain to the ped are the ones whose kids get these drugs.

you can hold off but watch very closely for the signs of it getting worse and not improving. I ignored for my #2 and it got to the point where he wouldn't eat unless asleep - they learn that food hurts. We ended up being on pepcid for 3(!) months. Now it is all good and gone but one month was so miserable...

yes. are you bfing? we wanted to avoid drugs unless absolutely necessary. so i completely changed my diet: avoided anything with milk, soy, tomato or anything acidy like citric acid. the milk's the biggest. within 24hrs of taking out anything milk (read labels, it's in ALOT of stuff) she was like a completely different baby. ifyou're ffing try a non-dairy formula. some reflux babies are fine with soy so you can try that first. its hard at first adjusting to the diet but it also helps get off the baby weight! GL whatever you decide

I'm not in Austin, but I do belong to a pool club, I watch my children like hawks. I used to be a lifeguard myself, and know that their attention cannot be on all places at once, ESPECIALLY if the pool is crowded. If you have small non or very beginning swimmers you have to be either in the pool or right at the side watching them.

I don't take my eyes off my 4 yo - until your kid is a great swimmer and 6+ you should be dc's lifeguard

OP: ITA, I watch my boys like a hawk, but I stay shallow with my 2.5 yr old and my 7 mo, BUT IF I turn my head for a moment and lose my kid, Id hope that the lifeguards would pay attention. I think I am going to just have 2.5 year old wear a life jacket since I have another kid in my arms. I didn't want to give him that false sense of security with a life jacket - but it is my obly option to have fun this summer in the water and be safe
